  2. Mastering the theoretical concepts of livestock cultivation and livestock business as well as marketing of livestock products in general and other relevant concepts to solve problems and/or work in the field of animal husbandry in large/small-scale livestock companies.
  3. Able to evaluate and supervise the achievement of work results in the field of animal husbandry for which he is responsible.
  4. Able to be responsible for the achievement of work results in the field of animal husbandry which is his responsibility properly as a member and/or leader in a working group.
  5. Able to make reports on the results of work in the field of animal husbandry which is his responsibility.

Courses

The Animal Technology and Management Study Program consists of 114 credits which are divided into several courses including

1. Introduction to Agroindustry 2(2-0)

This course is designed and structured to lead students to an understanding of the world of agro-industry in a broad sense by discussing various topics related to agro-industry, including the notion of post-harvest and product processing, understanding of added value of agricultural products, processed forms of agricultural products, and forms of agricultural products. forms of processing agricultural products.

2. Bahasa Indonesia 3(2-1)

Learn the mastery and use of Indonesian well. Topics covered include EYD, sentence structure, effective and logical sentences, paragraphs, types of writing, scientific work, and oral presentation.

3. English 3(1-2)​

Learn a series of skills to read and understand texts in English and improve vocabulary mastery at the intermediate level with reading topics that are appropriate for each skill program.

4. Computer Applications 3(1-2)

Learn the types of software, namely system software (operating systems and utilities) and their applications, introduction to computer components including processing, input, output, and storage equipment, computer network basics, computer and internet security, use of system software and applications for problem solving as well as local content materials according to the needs of each skill program.

5. Animal Nutrition 2(2-0)

Studying the function and role of nutrients in the body of livestock and their use for basic life and production processes.

6. Basic Livestock Production 3(1-2)

Study the origins, peoples and development of livestock today. In addition, the functional biology of the livestock concerned (poultry and ruminants) will also be studied.

7. Introduction of Animal Feed Ingredients 3(1-2)

Learn practical knowledge of various kinds of fodder ingredients that are commonly used both fortification and forage in terms of physical/morphological, chemical aspects and their value as animal feed and their use in livestock rations.

8. Pancasila Education and Citizenship/State Defense 3(2-1)

Mempelajari pengertian dan pentingnya bela negara berlandaskan pemahaman terhadap Pancasila, Pembukaan Undang-undang Dasar, Undang-undang Dasar 1945, Hak Asasi Manusia, Pancasila sebagai sistem etika, Wawasan Nusantara, Ketahanan Nasional, Otonomi Daerah dan Good Governance, guna membangun karakter mahasiswa yang memiliki kesadaran bela negara sesuai dengan tujuan pendidikan nasional.

Studying and recognizing the types and breeds of goats and sheep, child rearing, fattening, mating arrangements and production efficiency.

Learn the meaning and scope of company management, company establishment planning, funding, organizational structure development and company supervision.

14. Broiler Cultivation 3(1-2)

Discussion of broiler chicken maintenance techniques which include: rearing chicks during the starter, grower and finisher phases. In addition, the factors that influence the appearance and economics of production are also discussed.

15. Poultry Feeding Management 3(1-2)

Learn knowledge about the need for nutrients by type, species and period of poultry rearing; ingredients for poultry rations (food and feed additives), poultry ration formulations, rationing techniques; discusses the performance of poultry in relation to the adequacy of nutrition and income of farmers.

Learn the knowledge and techniques of feeding ruminants according to the needs of food substances according to type (dairy and meat) and production period, types of rations and ingredients for ruminant rations, ration formulations, rationing techniques.

20. Forage Cultivation 3(1-2)​

Discusses the management of forage production for livestock, including land processing, fertilization, planting, plant maintenance and harvesting both in pieces and grazing as well as the use of other forage sources.

21. Applied Livestock Breeding 3(1-2)

Discusses the identification and recording system of livestock production, selection and mating systems (inbreeding and outbreeding) to produce superior seeds.

Learn practical knowledge about the anatomy and physiology of livestock reproductive organs to get maximum results as well as the use of modern methods and technology by way of injection mating.

Discuss the concept and understanding of livestock business and its position in farming, management of livestock business and the factors that influence it; application of economic principles in business management.

29. Business English 3(1-2)

Learn the basics of handling meat and eggs, the factors that affect the quality of meat and eggs, processing techniques and ways of preserving eggs and meat.

35. Milk Handling and Processing 3(1-2)

Learn the basics of milk handling, the factors that affect milk quality, and milk processing techniques.

36. Field Work Practice I 3 (0-3)

This course activity is in the form of field work practice for 6 weeks.

37. Seminar 1 (0-1)

Students present the results of field work practices in front of the class, get feedback from their discussions, for the preparation of field work practice reports, exchange practical work experiences.

38. Final Project 6 (0-6)

This activity consists of 2 activities, namely Field Work Practice II (3 credits) and Final Report Writing (3 credits). Students do internships in livestock companies, cooperatives, livestock product processing industries or abattoirs for 12 weeks. Furthermore, students compile and make a final report that can be scientifically justified from these activities.
