The Rector of IPB University and the Director General of Vocational Education for Modern Chicken Harvests Closed House

SV-IPB Modern Closed House Chicken Harvest by IPB University Chancellor, Director General of Vocational Education Ministry of Education and Culture Research and Technology RI, Dean of SV-IPB University, and Business Unit Partnership Head PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia

The Chancellor of IPB University together with the Director General of Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education and Culture Research and Technology RI conducted a Batch II TEFA (Teaching Factory) chicken harvest  modern closed house College of Vocational Studies IPB University, on Campus IPB Sukabumi on Wednesday (9/6).

This is the second harvest that resulted in at least 42,700 chickens being harvested. “Today together with the Director General of Diction and PT Charoen Pokphand Indonesia, we harvest chickens at TEFA  Modern Closed House IPB Sukabumi campus with a capacity of 40 thousand chickens,” said IPB University Chancellor Arif Satria. With a production period of 35 days and an average chicken weight of 2.4 kilograms per head.

According to Arif, TEFA Modern Closed House this is a very good example for students and the public to study modern livestock which is managed professionally and profitably. “The development of this farm is intended to create an industrial atmosphere on campus because it will further familiarize students with industry. This effort encourages the improvement of student competencies so that they are ready to enter the industrial world,” he said.

The Director General of Vocational Education of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Directorate General of Diction, Kemendikbud Ristek) Wikan Sakarinto who was present at the chicken harvest appreciated the existence of Tefa’s closed house on the Sukabumi IPB campus. “The Ministry of Education and Culture and Research and Technology really appreciates the implementation of a teaching factory and the freedom to study at the Merdea campus in the form of a closed house,” he said.

The existence of Close House IPB Sukabumi, said Wikan, one of the best in Indonesia. Because it applies technology 4.0, the internet, and air system technology. Besides that, being a pilot for vocational education is really practiced.

“Students when they graduate will become entrepreneurs animal husbandry closer to the market,” said Wikan. The target is that this model can be implemented in vocational schools so that there is a link and match with industry from the initial curriculum to distribution.

Dr Arief Daryanto, Dean of College of Vocational Studies IPB University said, this modern cage is also equipped with a Digital Mobile Surveillance System (DMSS). With DMSS, the cage can be managed and monitored from home via a smartphone.

“In the future, the cage will also be equipped with various sophisticated sensors such as to measure ammonia levels, weight growth, and so on,” said Dr Arief.

He said, not only closed houses, College of Vocational Studies IPB University will also soon complete TEFA in the form of a green house in the future. designated for horticulture, and build aquaculture facilities with e-fisheries technology. (RZ/WB)
