Bogor, October 15, 2021 – IPB University Vocational School with the Faculty of Science and Technology Jambi University signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) in the fields of Education, Applied Research, and Community Service between the two parties. The signing was carried out at the Executive Lounge Dean Building of the College of Vocational Studies IPB University which was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, Jambi University, Prof. Drs. Damris M, M.Sc., Ph.D; Deputy Dean for Resources, Cooperation and Development of SV-IPB Dr. Ir. Wawan Oktariza; MSi, Head of Food Quality Assurance Study Program, Dr. Andi Early S.TP., MP; Head of Environmental Engineering and Management Study Program Dr. Ir. Sulistijorini, Msi; Head of Chemical Analysis Study Program Armi Wulanawati, SSi., MSi, Head of Cooperation Commission Dr. Sembada Men, MSc; and Chairman of the Public Relations Commission and SV-IPB Alumni Willy Bachtiar, M.IKom.
The cooperation agreement includes increasing the capacity of human resources through vocational education, curriculum development and learning content, as well as applied research, especially in the fields of chemistry, the environment, the food industry, and other fields.
Vice Dean for Resources, Cooperation and Development of SV-IPB, Dr. Ir. Wawan Oktariza revealed that this collaboration is a form of university obligation to strengthen each other, because in this current era we are no longer competing but must be able to collaborate and synergize with various parties, including of course other universities.
“I think this collaboration with Jambi University is our moral obligation to raise other universities so that later they will also increase, both in terms of quality and quantity. In this era of collaboration, competition is no longer a problem, especially when universities must work together. The collaboration can be in the form of education, research, community service, lecturer exchanges and student exchanges.” he concluded
Meanwhile, the Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology, University of Jambi, Prof. Drs. Damris M, M.Sc., Ph.D also expressed an extraordinary impression to be able to work together with College of Vocational Studies IPB University.
“With the MBKM policy, universities must provide as many opportunities as possible for students to be able to carry out off-campus activities not only in industry, but also on campuses or other universities. With this opportunity. We hope that our students from Jambi University can take part in an internship at College of Vocational Studies IPB University,” he said
“It is an extraordinary impression to be able to work together with SV-IPB. This collaboration is widely open not only for students as a place for internships but also for lecturers in the context of joint research, mentoring of joint students and other activities related to university partners and the business world of the industrial world.”
The IPB Vocational School hopes that this collaboration can pave the way for closer cooperation between IPB University and Jambi University in other fields. (WB)
